A healthy and sound baby is what every parents want. They do everything to keep their baby away from illnesses that could endanger their baby’s life. Parents resort to every type of vitamins, supplements and healthy foods that could nourish their baby’s mind and body and to avoid sickness from luring in.
But, a baby being sick is way beyond our control. No matter how much we try to protect them, we can’t stop the baby from being sick. Babies getting sick is inevitable. As parents, we need to learn to determine casual sicknesses from the serious ones; and we need to be alert and on-guard with the symptoms the baby is manifesting to be able to seek medical attention immediately when necessary.
Some sicknesses are just mild that it will go away on their own. Minor ailments such as mild sniffles will just be healed fastly through your TLC (tender loving care). But a serious one requires medical attention almost immediately. Below are few of the signs and symptoms that signifies that your baby should seek medical attention at once:
1. More fussy than usual. If your baby shows signs of irritability and consistent fussiness, he is not in his usual condition and thus, he is conveying that he’s not feeling well or that his body is hurting. More often than not, his moods are erratic and could not behave like he normally does.
2. Lack of sleep. A healthy baby can sleep almost without hesitation. When the baby can’t sleep well and usually cries in the middle of the night eventhough he’s not hungry or the diaper still dry, it could mean that something’s bothering him.
3. Fever. If the baby’s temperature reaches 37.5 degrees celsius, it is a sign that your baby is sick. Oftentimes, slight fevers are just found to be associated in response to immunization or vaccination; it it just normal and would subside in a day or two. But fevers reaching up to 40 degress celsius and persistent for 2-5 days, it is a sign that your baby has an infection and should be treated right away. Some fevers are erratic, with fever subsiding and returning in a span of one week, it could mean also that your baby has underlying illness that causes fever.
4. Skin rash. A skin rash may develop when the baby is allergic to food, clothes and even dirt. It may also develop with high fevers and worst, it is indicative that your baby has blood infection (sepsis) that could be fatal when left untreated.
5. Severe vomitting. When the baby vomits twice or more in a day, it is a sign that his digestion is not okay. Your baby spitting up occasionally is just normal. But when he starts to vomit large portions of his feedings, or he vomits almost instantly after feeding, something is wrong with him.
6. Diarrhea. Occasional loosening of stool is just normal, but watery or mucoidal stools persisting for two days is a sign of intestinal problems or parasitic infections.
7. Discharges. A discharge coming from the eyes, ears, and genitals is a sure indication that your baby has severe infections.
Be aware of these signs and symptoms. Never delay to seek immediate medical attention, and always trust your motherly instincts. Most importantly, always secure your baby’s things and surroundings, sterilize and clean it to prevent bacteria and viruses from making it as a breeding ground.
Baby blankets are helpful when a baby is sick. If you are buying unique baby gifts for a baby shower, you might want to consider buying baby blankets as gifts for new baby.

The Makings of Engaging Nursery are Painless to Unearth

Some of us, though now adults, still have fond memories of our baby blankets. Knowing that baby blankets offer a sense of immense security for the child will help you remember during baby’s bedding shopping how important are the appearance and the touch to your kid.
First, buy your baby’s crib accessories, and then it’s time to begin working on the room itself, starting with applying paint that matches the nursery decor. Many parents choose light colors or pastels that give a pleasant, calming atmosphere for your child’s nursery; to give the room a touch of zing you can always paint a mural on one wall.
Infant Bedding Turns On the Newborn Development Bazaar

Baby girl bedding continues to be a huge profit producer for baby boutiques and chain stores alike which cater to every taste, even offering custom bedding ensembles for the truly discerning parents who want to set themselves and their infant’s nursery apart from the common pickings of average store selections.
These large fluffy blankets can be used in a variety of ways such as a wall hanging or a furniture accent, but are rarely used to cover the baby since they may be hazardous to them. Crib bumpers fit into this category, also because they are not placed in the crib until the baby is older and the danger of the baby’s rolling into it and smothering has passed. Baby blankets and crib bumpers would never be forgotten in decorating nurseries.
