Why Copyright ?

March 31st, 2009

How far is something copyright protected, if it is publicly displayed on the Internet? How can someone make sure that his work on the internet is not infringed upon and plagiarized, and what to do if it is?The Berne Convention for the Protection of Literary and Artistic Works was introduced in 1886 and consequently accepted by most countries of the world.

The copyright protection for books is much easier to understand and enforce, then the copyright laws regulating music and movies. You either own the book which is the official release, or you have a counterfeit. With music and films, that is not easy.Copyright violation is just another expression for copyright infringement, covered by the copyright laws.
